Jim's Mowing began as a one-man business in 1982. Jim Penman, with $24 and a dedication to customer service, started a business that eventually employed up to thirty subcontractors. Problems with maintaining high standards led him to try a number of different ideas, leading to the launch of the Jim's Mowing Franchise system in 1989.

Jim believed that by offering training and support to others, he could attract and keep quality Franchisees. And with clearly defined standards of customer service, this would build an excellent reputation and make it easy to keep his Franchisees busy. Which would, in turn, make it easier to recruit and keep good people. The policy worked well, with 60 Franchisees within a year and more than 1600 in four countries by 2005.

Our focus at Jim's Mowing today is to deliver the same reliable, friendly and professional service that Jim offered his own customers in 1982, and which has made us the best known Lawn and Garden Care Group in Australia .
